The ST300 softness tester is a precise device that is a reliable means of checking leather softness. The ST300 is non-destructive, so it is not necessary to take test pieces of older leather for testing. This allows a uality system to be established between supplier and customer whenever leather softness is a priority.
Good quality control is the key factor in running a successful, profitable business. In this respect, the leather industry is no exception. Traditionally, the evaluation of leather softness was carried out by subjective sensory analysis through expert inspection. The need for a plain, inexpensive and easy-to-use machine that made reliable, repeatable measurements of a variety of leathers with different thicknesses and softnesses was clearly identified. The ST300 was developed and designed in conjunction with the BLC Leather Technology Centre, who had the needs of both parties, supplier and consumer, in mind
TheST300 is available as a conventional, analog instrument (graduated in 0.1 mm divisions) or as an electronic, digital instrument (displaying numbers up to 0.01 mm / 0.0005") The digital version features an RS 232 connection, allowing connections to a computer for data processing and storage. When using electronic test equipment, both versions can be precisely calibrated and reset to the original factory parameters.
