Short description
Huber system abrasion tester (UGRA) for testing abrasion resistance on paper and board, provided that the print on the paper and board is dry.
Testing principle
The device consists essentially of four components:
- a guide frame with counter
- a sliding scouring sled
- a free-lying metal block in the scouring sled (weight 520 g)
with foam rubber pad on the underside - a PVC plate (approx. 14 x 26 cm) as a smooth scrubbing base
The metal block has a bearing surface of 50 x 50 mm, resulting in a rubbing load of 2 mN/mm² (equivalent to 0.2 N/cm²). The scouring distance is 2 x 10 cm per double stroke and is registered mechanically by the counter. The standard number of thrusts 20 should be observed in every test.
This ensures the comparability of the assessment results.
